Stage Combat with Zak Rogers

Zak Rodgers is a stunt and stage combat specialist from Palmerston North. Originally a circus performer and martial artist (Shaolin Nam Pai Chuan, 2009-2019), Zak discovered stage combat through NCEA Drama and quickly enrolled in the stage combat intensive at NYDS in 2016. He has continued his training since and became NZSS-qualified in stage, screen, and aerial wirework in 2022.
He has directed fight and stunt work for Centrepoint Theatre's Basement Company and Manawatu Summer Shakespeare's Zak's specialty is exploring the fight as a form of storytelling, allowing characters to express their skills and emotions physically while maintaining safety and comfort for actors.
